WELCOME to Spinning Wax Memories!

I have a desire to share music with the world - no, not my own - but from the legitimate (or illegitimate) Artists that populate our blue marble. I was a DJ, Record Librarian & Production Mgr at a college radio station KTAI-FM from '72-76 and the music that was evolving then played a huge part in my audiophile development. Some say I am stuck in that era - NOT TRUE - just highly influenced.

College radio was at the fore-front during this period as radio programming was just beginning to transition away from the 3-4 minute song to the Album Oriented lengths AND it allowed for full DJ expression. What does that mean? All Genres were fair game - Rock, Blues, Jazz, Soul (R&B), C&W, etc... and man, did we take advantage of it. Too be frank though, even the Genres were evolving - as the Artists Musicians stretched in to areas unfamiliar to the listeners. Outlaw country invaded Austin through Willie Nelson & friends, Santana joins John McLaughlin (Miles Davis' jazz guitarist) and the Mahavishnu Orchestra AND the list goes on and on.....exciting times my friend!

What will you get from Spinning Wax Memories? Well, my random memories of the songs of that early '70s era PLUS music that has been generated from the Root to the Fruit (as Bundini Brown woud say) via Tweets that contain the YouTube links to those songs. So look below this Post and check out the Tweets - click on a YouTube URL or two and listen to the vibe being offered. Do not forget to check on the vid jukebox below, powered by YouTube, that is loaded for bear.

I hope these songs will stimulate your memories, entertain you, serve to introduce you to Artists you have not heard and maybe even CREATE NEW wax memories!
